The Palayoor was four prominent Brahmin famlies of the village namely Pakalomattom, Sankarapuri, Kaliyankal and Kalli. The Pakalomattom illam was initially at Palayoor originated from Brahmins. Who where brought in to the Christian faith by st:thomas the apostle in A. D. 52.The 4th century they moved to KuravilangadThe early forefathers maintained their old family names.. Many Branches of Pakalomattom family later moved to the different parts of Kerala starting from 17th century due to the division created between Puthekoor and Pazhayakoor after the incident of koonan kurish at Mattancherry in the year of 1653.
Pakalomattam Vadakkentedathu family is one of the most ancient and prominent, aristocratic Christian family in Central Travancore. The history of the family is traced back to the period establishment of Malankara Church by St.Thomas one of the disciple of Jesus Christ. Our mission is unity and strengthen the bonds of each and every family member associated with Vadakkentedathu Kudumbayogam.
Our founder father Kuriathu Oommen son of Kuriathu and Maria Panamkuzhakal house a branch of Pakalomattam Palliveedu at Kuravilangad.
Kuriathu Oommen and his elder son Oommen Oommen and his brother Kuruvila migrated to Kozhencherry in A. D. 1663 built in a house at a plot of land called Kannukottil this place is just on the west of present government high school Kozhencherry.
Kuriathu Oommen elder son Oommen oommen married with Maria daughter of Mathai Thazhathedathu Kozhencherry after they settled in a land called Vadakkentedathu. Oommen Oommen and Maria had seven son's

3) Kuriathu Chenattu
4) Itty Mullasseril
5) Geevarughese Porattoor
6) Oommen Cheriyan Pampakottu
7) Yohannan Vadakkentedathu
Kuriathu Oommen and his younger son Kuruvila moved to Nedumprayar, Maramon from Kozhencherry at a plot of land at Thevervelil after they settled in a plot of land Chakkalayil. Kuruvila had three son's Kuruvila Padinjaremannil, Mathen Palakunnathu, Mathew Chakkalayil.
Kuriathu Oommen younger brother Mathen Mapila migrated at the age of 50 in the year of A. D. 1663 along with his wife kandamma and only his son Kochumathen to Ayroor. The local chief provided them with a plot of land to stay Kidaginethu after 18 years of stay there and moved to plot of a land Thazhamon.
All our forefathers from the seven branches (Kottackattethu, Edathil, Chenattu, Mullasseril, Porattoor, Pampakottu, Vadakkentedathu) gathered at the Vadakentedathu Tharavadu in Kozhencherry on 03/06/1910 (Malayalam Edavam - Midhunam 1085) and decided to form a family union.They named it ‘Kozhencherry Pakalomattam Vadakentedathu Family Union.’ They decided to hold the family union meeting every year in May at the houses of various branches and established a small membership fee. Their forefathers migrated from the Kuravilangad Pakalomattam Panamkuzhakal family to Kozhencherry in the year 1663. Since they came from the northern side, the local people of Kozhencherry at that time called them Vadakenmapillamar.
The Pakalomattam Vadakkentedathu Family Union was updated in 1980. The 1st edition of our family history was published in 1985 by author and publisher Mr. K. G. Varughese, Kottackattethu Valiyaparampil. Mr. V. G. George, Valliparampil, supported him in developing this family history. The first amount was donated by Mr. C. K. Mathew, Chenattu. The managing committee and editorial board had 16 members. The patron was Rev. P. M. Mathew, the president was K. M. John, the secretary was T. K. Mathew, and the trustee was M. Philipose.
